Welcome September
Not quite sure what happened to August, went by in a blur, but there you go.B back to school and news of a new grandchild due in January, all very exciting!Hoping to get A on the roof today and fix a non closeing window, check chimney and re attatch the netting that flew off the top of chimney pot, dont wish to hurt any nesting birds when we light the woodburner.Still have to get more logs delivered, but chimney all swept ready.Hospital for me in 2 weeks for removal of gall bladder, next weekend Ciderfest , guess which event Im most looking forward to ?.

sunshine and showers
Had a few days of muggy weather.Still only managing 6 hours sleep, must be old age,.Courgettes growing crazy big leaves, I have been brave and cut a lot to help the fruits swell..Had a great meet up with family at Camperjam, and middle daughter is pregnant too.New garden furniture looks great, Andy cut a lot of the bamboo runner,s
some had broken through the old pool base he also finally fitted the fascia boards in the front.....just the sides to do now!.I repainted the front door next to pressure wash the driveway. Had a few issues with both cars, but all fixed now, but greatly depleted bank balance.Starting the packing list for West Bay and Dartmouth holiday, will be a challenge on a tiny budget.

Well the garden is growing like crazy, have a few courgettes, but the slugs are beating me! Cucumbers producing tiny babies.The tropicals are loving this warm spell and the new garden furniture complements them beautifully.Husband still away, but we managed a suprise visit to him last night, bit boring the after dinner speeches but hey ho.Awake after just 6 hours sleep AGAIN , another warm one.

elderflower cordial
The kitchen smells devine, making my second batch of said cordial, the kids are drinking it almost faster than I can make it.Rained overnight so not as humid as yesterday..Planning to tackle wardrobes today, far too many clothes so a cull is needed. Need to ring chimney sweep. Elderflowers recipe
15 heads
1/2 kg sugar
2 lemons
2 litres boiling water
dissolve sugar in water add lemon zest and juice
add flowers
cover
leave 2 days
stir morning and night
Strain through scalded muslin
decant into sterilised bottles...simples
